SAMPLE OF GOAL PLAN

GOAL:        I want to lose 15 pounds

I want to change my diet to one that is healthful, wholesome, fun & tasty

I will cut down on calories and avoid fried food and use olive oil and avoid saturated and transfats such as margarine

I will use foods high in fiber & low fat

I will not use foods that are full of wasted calories, like desserts that are mostly sugar and starch from refined sugar and flour

I will make every calorie count using whole grain breads, grains and brown rice

I will exercise early in the morning, and take 15" walks after my evening meal

My exercise will be both aerobic (walking and bicycle riding) and anaerobic (weight lifting)

I will enjoy my meals & make them fun and tasty

I will vary my exercise to keep it fun

I will do every thing in moderation

I will drink grape juice or a glass of red wine to help protect my heart

I will not feel guilty if I am less than perfect, but do better each day

Specific Solutions of LA DESSERT:

D DIETARY & NUTRITIONAL GOOD HABITS:
  • Change your eating habits with a life-style change. The food is fun, tasty, filling and doesn’t put a guilt trip on you

  • Diets don’t require you to use ½ Cup of this or that. Use an All-natural Herbal Diet Pac & eat the proper foods, just in smaller amounts, and use Fiber Pills before eating fatty meals

  • Use Olive Oil in all your cooking and as butter replacement on bread.

  • On pasta use simmered sauce of Olive Oil, basil, thyme, rosemary, garlic with light sprinkle of Parmesan or Romano cheese.

  • Moisten pasta in 2 tablespoons of water you just boiled the pasta in. It is moist and you don’t need lots of sauce to moisten it.

  • Avoid fried foods and don’t eat french fries, fast food hamburgers, chips. Eat thin, whole grain crackers and pretzels

  • Eat open-faced sandwiches—one slice less

  • Let yogurt drain in strainer overnight to make it look and taste like sour cream without fat. It makes what we call Yogurt "Cheese."

  • Terrific Garlic Sauce Made With: 2 tbsp. Feta, ½ cup of Yogurt Cheese, Tofu & Low Fat Cottage Cheese+Dill/Mint & Shelled Cloves of 2 Heads of Garlic — all ground till smooth in Little Oscar (food processor).

  • Make Garlic easy to peel by cracking each clove with bottom of a bottle on solid surf.

  • Avoid most dairy products — makes mucus and constipates.

  • Fiber Pills fill you up, help with elimination, lower cholesterol.

  • BBQ your meats so fat drips off. Some benzenes but trade-off is a win for you.

  • Marinate meats before grilling: Put into 2 tbsp. of olive oil and ½ cup of red wine— some whole ground garlic cloves, rosemary, thyme, cilantro, oregano, garlic powder, pepper, tsp. of Lite Soy Sauce, tbsp. A1, dash of liquid smoke (marinate 3 to 12 hrs).

  • Blend soy-based shakes for breakfast & Pick-me-up during day. 130 calories plus fruit or juice to flavor & add nutrition.

  • Baked potatoes moistened with yogurt cheese, salt & pepper and a little Parmesan + onions & garlic; beats butter/sour cream as toppings.

  • Slice Citrus into wedges-easy to eat & you get the pulp.

  • End meals with fruit—aids digestion & calories.

  • 10-15" walk after dinner aids digestion.

  • Put ReaLemon juice in water-makes palatable.

  • Don’t take Fiber Pills with Fish or with vitamins (Fat Soluble vitamins. not absorbed).

  • Take small bites & chew food 20x’s

  • Read labels-avoid chemicals & colors

  • Steam Vegetables

  • Use only the egg whites

  • Use unsweetened applesauce as bread-spread to replace jelly

  • Sub. applesauce for fat in some recipes

  • Use a Juicer Machine that will extract vitamins and nutrients and make a nutritious drink. You will still need fiber to replace that lost from juiced vegetables. & fruits

E EXERCISE:

EXERCISE is the Longevity and Anti-Aging Magic Bullet of the 2000's.   One hr. of exercise gives four hrs. of Anti-Aging influence to the body. Everyone who is into Anti-Aging is obliged to exercise regularly.

EXERCISE is the most important Anti-Aging tool available to the Human Body!

S STRESS REDUCTION:

Vital to your Longevity and Anti-Aging Program is to function in a stress-free or stress-less personal environment. In today’s high stress societal environment you must learn the mental gymnastics and relaxation skills to put your mind and body at ease, and thus relieve and avoid stress.

An example of mental gymnastics and relaxation skills is explained in this personal vignette: I always hated the two or three minutes wait at a red light or train. I learned in a lecture by a Stress-Reduction-Oriented Cardiologist that to reverse that albatross-around-my-neck I should take those two or three minutes to think about or do something useful and or pleasant. Examples include: 1) listen to music on the car radio; 2) think about or plan what you will do the rest of the day; 3) read poetry; 4) dictate a report or letter that is on your list; 5) look about and relish the city scene around you! In other words MENTALLY CONVERT THOSE DREADED MOMENTS TO PLEASANT MOMENTS! It worked and since that lecture I have looked forward to those free and bonus minutes.

Critical to learning new relaxation skills is to learn from others what they do to relax and avoid stress. So, ask them and talk about their personal Stress Reduction Techniques.

In some cases, stress may be too much to handle yourself and you must seek the help of professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists and other such therapists. Psychotropic medicines and herbal remedies can be tried. Massage therapy and a wide range of Mind-Body Techniques can be applied.
